ISRO Cracks Century by Sending Satellites in Space

·        Indian Space Research Organization launched 100th satellites of India from the Satish Dawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
·        The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLVC-40) was used for the carrying of 31 Satellites which successfully launching weather observation Cartosat-2 Series Satellites, which shall be beneficial for farmers in India.
·        Out of 31 Satellites, three satellites were for Indian use and 28 belong to 6 other countries –Canada, United States of America, France, Korea, Finland and UK.
·        By sending satellites for other countries ISRO is earning foreign currency for the country.
·        These 31 Satellites comprised total weight of 1323 kgs.
·        The PSLVC-40 took off at 9.29 am from Shriharikota on 12th January, 2018 and the entire process of inserting the satellites in two orbits is expected to take 2 hours and 21 minutes.
·        This is the first successful mission of ISRO in 2018, as it failed in Launch of IRNSS-1H in August 2017.
·        Meanwhile, Pakistan’s foreign spokesperson has objected to the launch of satellites which in its view may be used for both military and civil purpose and India may use it in consolidating military might.

·        President and the Prime Minister has sent congratulation messages to ISRO on the successful mission of sending 31 satellites in space.
